11/02/2005 - Night of Firsts
Tonight was a night of firsts for Emma. We had been sponge bathing her for the first three weeks, per the instruction manual that came with her. Once the umbilical cord stump fell off, we were pretty much in the clear to bathe her, but were still a little apprehensive about it. At least I was. Besides, how dirty does a baby really get? Anyway, Marie got the bath ready while I changed her and stripped her down. I wrapped her in a towel and grabbed the digital camera. I am glad I did! In addition to getting her first bath on film, she found her thumb for the first time, and started sucking away. She had done it inside Marie, but had yet to reproduce the feat on the outside. I'll get the photos up in a few minutes. It's priceless. Tom
